MCW Libraries resources are available anytime, anywhere, and on any device.
While on campus and using the MCW, Froedtert Staff or Children's Wisconsin staff network to access the internet, connecting to MCW Libraries subscription resources like databases and journals is seamless because the resources recognize your IP address.
To connect to resources from off-campus, start out at the library's publicly accessible homepage or at any of our LibGuides. If you click a link to a subscription resource, you will be prompted to login to OpenAthens. Those with MCW accounts can use their account information to login. Other users, including Children's Wisconsin and Froedtert Health employees need to register for an account.

MCW IS installs Always-On VPN on MCW owned and managed software. Even if you are off-campus and have the VPN running, you still need to log into OpenAthens to access our subscription resources. You will be prompted to login to OpenAthens when you click on links to subscription resources on the MCW Libraries webpages.
This form is for Children's, Froedtert Health and Wisconsin Diagnostic Laboratories Staff, or volunteer clinical faculty, adjunct faculty, emeritus faculty, and students in joint degree programs.
After verification of your status is received, you will receive an email with instructions on how to set up your OpenAthens account.
Use PubMed LinkOut to easily connect to MCW Libraries' subscription articles. The Get It From MCW Libraries buttons show up when viewing an article citation. 
Clicking these buttons will either take you to the full text of an article, or they make it easy to request an item through our Request Materials service. These buttons appear in the abstract view of each individual citation. Learn more in our PubMed LibGuide.
Use Google Scholar to easily connect to MCW Libraries' subscription articles. You can configure Scholar to display "Get it from MCW Libraries" links for most articles. Clicking these links will either take you to the full text of an article, or they make it easy to request an item through our Request Materials service.

When you run searches in Scholar, you should start seeing Get it from MCW Libraries links. If the link isn't there, click the >> under the citation.
