The purpose of this guide is to highlight journals that publish articles on the topic of character in education. 

The Kern Institute defines character as the complex constellation of psychological characteristics that motivates and enables individuals to act as moral agents.

Searches were conducted in Academic Search PremierBusiness Source PremierERICOvid MEDLINE,  PsycINFOScopus, and Web of Science to identify articles that were published on the topic of education and character. Words used to define character include trustworthiness, equanimity, humility, compassion, perseverance and courage. 

Over 2300 articles and conference papers were identified in the search. The top 20 journals with the most publications on this topic are highlighted below.
