Guidelines

In November 2018, ECRI launched a new version of the National Guidelines Clearinghouse (NGC), now redeveloped into the ECRI Guidelines Trust. The new site does require registration but is easy to use and is freely available. ECRI Guidelines Trust will continually update and expand the content and features included in the repository to keep pace with the evolving field of guidelines.

Use this guide to learn how to find guidelines using both MCW Libraries and publicly available resources.

Another way to find guidelines is to add AND ("guideline"[Publication Type]) to your search. Example: hypertension AND ("guideline"[Publication Type]) will find guideline articles related to hypertension.

You can also find guidelines by using PubMed Clinical Queries. Articles that show up in the Systematic Review column are systematic reviews, meta-analyses, reviews of clinical trials, evidence-based medicine, consensus development conferences, and guidelines.
