MCW Libraries uses OpenAthens to connect users to library resources. Most Froedtert and Children's Wisconsin employees, and MCW volunteer or adjunct faculty are eligible for access to MCW Libraries' subscription resources. Complete the registration form to request an account. After we verify your status, you will receive an email with access instructions.

Fill out the required fields in the registration form with your name, Children’s Wisconsin email address, department, position, institution (select Children’s Wisconsin), status, phone, and address.
Within 1-2 business days, you will receive two emails:
1. An email from noreply@openathens.net with the subject line: MCW Libraries Remote Access – Action Required.
2. An email from MCW Libraries – Circ/ILL with instructions on how to access MCW Libraries’ resources.
Follow the link in this email to create a password:
Create a password for your OpenAthens account with the minimum requirements. Write this password down for future use!
Your username is the email address you registered with.
The email below notifies you of your account approval. Follow the links in the email to MCW Libraries’ resources.

Congratulations! You now have an OpenAthens account to use when accessing library materials.
When prompted, login with your OpenAthens email address and password under “other authorized users.”
